Mrs. Arthur C. Bessette
TURNERS FALLS – Mrs. Delena Bessette, 91, of Catonsville, Md., formerly of this town died Tuesday in St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Md. She was born in Connecticut June 22, 1871, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Young. She had been a resident of Catonsville for the past seven years, formerly having lived here for 83 years where she was a member of St. Anne’s Church. She was the widow of Arthur C. Bessette. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Gosselin of Catonsville, with whom she made her home, and Mrs. Jennie Desautells of Riverside, Calif.; four sons, Arthur of Greenfield, Charles of this town, Harold of Springfield and Winslow of New London, Conn.; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held Friday morning at 8 at the McCarthy funeral home here with a requiem high mass at 8.30 in St. Anne’s Church. Burial will be in St. Anne’s Cemetery. Visiting hours are tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
