Gale F. Basset
Gale F. (Macchiaverna) Bassett, 75, of Danbury, died on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Regional Hospice Center for Comfort Care and Healing, Danbury. Mrs. Bassett was born in Danbury, May 3, 1942, a daughter of the late Epolio "Al" and Lucy (Chesto) Macchiaverna. A Danbury resident until 1948 moving with her family to Arizona, she attended Arizona schools and graduated from Xavier High School of Phoenix. In 1950, Mrs. Bassett relocated to Danbury, entered and graduated from the Bridgeport School of Nursing. A registered nurse, Mrs. Basset was employed at the Danbury Hospital and Glen Hill Center, Danbury. She attended St. Gregory the Great Church, Danbury. Mrs. Bassett is survived by two daughters, Heather Bassett of Danbury and Jennifer Danieli and her husband Christopher of Southbury; a sister of Bernadette Dennis of Danbury; a brother Victor Carrascoso of Cooperstown, NY; two grandchildren, Gabriella and Cameron Danieli and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Gregory the Great Church, 85 Great Plain Rd., Danbury. Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Bassett's memory may be made to the Gabriella and Cameron Danieli Education Fund, P.O. Box 459, Ridgefield, CT 06877. Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury, is in charge of arrangements.
