Mr. James Michael Bassett, 56, of Santa Maria, passed away October 27, 2007.

James Michael Bassett, 1951-2007
Mike passed away October 27, 2007 at Marian Extended Care following a lengthy
illness. Mike was born July 27, 1951 in Santa Maria, California to Clyde and
Louise (Moody) Bassett. Mike graduated from Righetti High School in 1969. He
was employed with Williams Brothers Marker prior to entering the U.S. Army. He
then was employed as a cable installer for several years in North Carolina and
Santa Maria. Mike loved riding his Harley Motorcycle and of late he enjoyed
gardening. Mike is survived by his son, Michael William Bassett,
granddaughter, Heidi Bassett, sister and her husband, Patsy and Mike Merchant,
Nipomo, brother and his wife, Steve and Taffy Bassett, Santa Maria, four
nieces, one nephew as well as numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews and
one great-great niece as well as his special friend, Madeline Figueroa. Mike
was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Louise Bassett and step-
father, C.T. "Tom" Brown. A graveside memorial service will be held Friday
November 2, 2007 at 11:00 am at the Santa Maria Cemetery with Reverend Elmer
Moody officiating. Friends may make memorial contributions in Mike's memory to
a charity of choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary and
