Frank J. Bassett
Frank J. Bassett, Jr., 73, of Danbury, died on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Danbury Hospital. Mr. Bassett was born in Danbury, August 28, 1939, a son of the late Frank and Mary Bassett. He attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School in the Class of 1959. He later attended barbering school in New York City and for many years was a barber having owned the former Terrace Crest Barber Shop, Lake Avenue, Danbury. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Catholic War Veterans of Danbury. Mrs. Bassett enjoyed sports and was an avid golfer. He is survived by a son, Michael E. Bassett of Southbury; two daughters, Jennifer M. Danieli and her husband, Christopher of Southbury and Heather Bassett of Danbury; a sister, Betty Bassett Cutler and her husband, James of Washington State; an aunt, Dolorita Zacavish of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren, Gabriella and Cameron; his former wife, Gale (Macchiaverna)Bassett as well as several nieces and cousins. Graveside funeral services and burial will take place on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 11:15 am in Section 17, St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. Contributions in Mr. Bassett's memory may be made to Regional Hospice and Home Care, 405 Main St., Danbury 06810. Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury is in charge of arrangements.
