Glenn Ray Bass Sr. (1937 ? 2018)
Wallops Island, VA - passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at the age of 80 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Ruth Ann Bass. Glenn was born in North Carolina on August 13, 1937; his parents were the late, James Franklin Bass and Mattie Lillian Ethridge Bass. Glenn was a member of the New Church Baptist Church and his affiliations were Masonic Lodge #243 and IBEW #80. Glen was an electrician for many years.
He is survived by his four children, Glenn Ray Bass, Jr., Wayne Lee Bass, Ruby Helphrey and Joyce Harper, six grandsons, Gary Fox, Jr, Joseph Bass, Ian Helphrey, Larry III, Jake and Jordan Harper, two granddaughters, Karen Ruth Cherrix, and Sierra Bass, three great granddaughters, Grace Ann and Madelyn Fox, and Olivia Cherrix, two sisters, Joyce Shackleford and Elizabeth Bissett, several nieces and nephews.
There will be a Visitation on Friday Evening, July 27, 2018 at Fox & Holston Funeral Home, Chincoteague, VA from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at Union Baptist Church, Chincoteague, VA on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Kevin Eley officiating. Interment will be at John W. Taylor Cemetery, Temperanceville, VA with Masonic Rights.
