Rite Set Tomorrow For Former Teacher Louise Goode Bass
A funeral for Mrs. Louise Goode Bass, a former Chesterfield County schoolteacher, will be held tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at Mount Hermon Baptist Church, 18100 Genito Road. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Bass died yesterday in her Chesterfield residence. She was 93.
A Chesterfield native, Mrs. Bass taught for a few years in county schools before going to work in 1934 for Peninsula Life Insurance Co. The company was bought in 1937 by Home Beneficial Life Insurance Co., where Mrs. Bass worked until she retired in 1964.
She was treasurer of the Mount Hermon Baptist Church Women's Missionary Union for 37 years and was church clerk for 25 years.
Mrs. Bass was the widow of Howard A. Bass who died in the 1960s.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Mount Hermon Baptist Church Building Fund, 18100 Genito Road, Moseley, Va. 23120.
