Patricia S. "Pat" Bassett (picture included)
November 24, 2006. Patricia "Pat" S. Bassett, 78, of Syracuse, died Friday at
home. Born in Chicago, IL, she lived in Syracuse since 1970. Pat was a
graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Buffalo. A
teacher for the West Genesee Central School District for 15 years, she retired
in 1985. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and the Christian
Church of the Resurrection. A volunteer at Sunnyside Care Center, Van Duyn
Home and Hospital, and Hospice of CNY, Pat was also a charter member of WAVES.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Thomas G. Bassett; sons, Raymond
(Patricia) Bassett of Webster and Kenneth (Penny) Bassett of Camillus;
daughter, Elizabeth (Thomas) Finneran of Sumner, WA; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at St. Luke's Episcopal
Church, with a reception to follow. Arrangements are by Buranich Funeral Home,
5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Contributions may be made to Christian Church
