Donald Edward Bassett
Bassett, Donald E. Ann Arbor, MI Age 64 passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, January 8, 2006 surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was born on September 3, 1941 in Ypsilanti, MI the son of Kenneth and Helen (Alexander) Bassett. Donald married Joyce (Miley) Bassett on April 29, 1961 at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Donald was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. After 30 committed years in the automotive industry, Donald and Joyce traveled in their motorhome and spent time at their home in Melbourne Beach, FL. Don was a wonderful person who genuinely cared for every one. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Joyce, three children; Theresa (Carol Kennedy) Bassett, Denise (Mario) Cadavieco and Michael (Julie) Bassett, ten very loving grand children, one sister, Mary and one brother, John as well as "Mr. Dunker"-Ed Krol. The family will receive friends at the Nie Family Funeral Home, 2400 Carpenter Rd on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 12, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 520 Elizabeth St. in Ann Arbor. Burial will follow at Arborcrest Cemetery in Ann Arbor. Memo rial contributions may be made to the St. Thomas Catholic Church Tabernacle Fund. We thank all of our family and friends who have continually prayed for Donald and his family during his illness.
