Anna Virginia Bass Morris
SHELLEY - Anna Virginia Bass Morris, 83, of Shelley, Idaho, died Aug. 7, 2001, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls of natural causes. She was born April 5, 1918, in Phenix, Va., to Edward Bascomb Bass and Lola Helen Connally Bass. On Aug. 12, 1942, she married Eugene E. Morris. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on May 7, 1968. They lived in Lynchburg, Va., then moved to the Chicago, Ill., area. Her husband died in 1979, and she moved to Shelley to be closer to her children. On Feb. 14, 1984, she married Melvin Morris. He preceded her in death. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she taught in the Primary for many years and worked as a Spanish extraction worker in genealogy. She enjoyed her plants and gardening. Survivors include her children, Allen Chadwick (Debra) Morris of Taylor, Idaho, Mary E. (Ferris) Call of Dayton, Idaho, Helen Darlene (Kent) Tew of Sundance, Wyo., Phillip Wayne Morris of Ellijay, Ga., Eugene Edward (LoriAnn) Morris II of northern Idaho, WM Daniel Morris of Idaho Falls, and Anna Virginia Morris of Pocatello; a sister, Mildred Roach of Gladys, Va.; 40 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Shelley LDS 4th Ward, 184 N. Park, with Bishop Terrill Christen-sen officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley.
