Gary D. Bass
Lt. Col. U.S. Army (Ret) Gary D. Bass of Lake Delancey, Fla., went home to be with the Lord on Sat., July 27, 2019. He was born on July 1, 1950, in Norfolk, Va., to Bennett and Mary Bass.
Gary was a graduate of the Andalusia High School Class of 1968, and of New York State University with a degree in statistics. He continued the family military tradition by serving 28 years in the U.S. Army National Guard, many of which were with the Alabama National Guard.
Military services will be held on Thu., Aug. 8, 2019, at 2:30 p.m., at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Fla.
He leaves his wife, Dora Bass of Melbourne, Fla.; son, Shawn Bass of Prattville, Ala.; grandson, Austin (Shelby) Bass and granddaughter, Isabella, of Goose Creek, S.C.; sister, Linda Crews of Melbourne, Fla.; niece Angie (Matt) Barker and their children Dylan, Hanna, and Logan Barker, West Melbourne, Fla.; and many other special family and friends.
