Ozark - August 23 (Special) - Arley Bass, aged 49, Franklin County Clerk, died at his home here Monday. He was serving his second term. He had been ill a year and during that time his wife, Mrs. Erma Crutchfield Bass, served as deputy county clerk. In the August 27 primary she won the Democratic nomination for county clerk. Born at Denning, he was a lifelong Franklin County resident. He was a Mason. Also surviving are a son, Ronald of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Coe Dickerson of Ozark; his mother, Mrs. Mary Greesan of Ozark, and a sister, Mrs. Elbert Station of Walalula. Funeral services will be held at the First Christian Church by Reverend Frank Rice at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
