      Faye A. Bassett

      April 24, 1925 - Aug 4, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Faye A. (Oursler) Bassett, 88, passed away at home Aug. 4, 2013. She held many leadership roles at First Presbyterian Church, where her passion was teaching adult Sunday school and leading Bible studies. Other interests were travel, home movies and gardening. For seven years, she was a counselor for troubled youth as a Court-Appointed Advocate for Youth. Through this work, she was nominated for the city's "Volunteer of the Year" award. She and Charles N. "Bud" Bassett married in 1943, a year after she graduated from Classen High. She lost her soul mate in 2004. She is survived by her four children: Charlene and Barbara Bassett, Tulsa; Linda Mokkosian (husband, John), Salem, NH; and Charlie (wife, Chris), Bethany; Grandchildren are: Luke, Katie and T.J. Mokkosian; Brandon and Regan Rule; and Amanda (Bassett) Ashton and Richard Bassett; and three great-grandchildren.       Faye A. (Oursler) Bassett, 88, passed away at home Aug. 4, 2013. Faye lived a life focused on family and faith. She married her soul mate, Bud Bassett, in 1943, a year after graduating from Classen High. They celebrated 61 years together before his death in 2004. She served many leadership roles at First Presbyterian Church, where her passion was teaching adult Sunday school and Bible studies. Other interests included travel, home movies and gardening. She was nominated as the city's "Volunteer of the Year" for her work through the Court-Appointed Advocate for Youth program. Children are: Charlene and Barbara Bassett, Tulsa; Linda Mokkosian (husband John), Salem, N.H.; and Charlie (wife Chris), Bethany. Grandchildren are: Luke, Katie and T.J.
