Joanne Rolfe Bass
Chesapeake, Virginia
Joanne Rolfe Bass Chesapeake - Joanne Rolfe Bass of Natchez Trace went to be with the Lord October 6, 2012 with her family by her side. She was born in South Norfolk to the late William P. and Elizabeth Brickhouse Rolfe. Joanne served the city of Chesapeake in the Treasurer's office for twenty years and after retiring was involved with Maximum Guided Tours of Williamsburg for sixteen years. She was a member of Great Bridge Baptist Church and along with her husband organized the "Pairs and Spares" Sunday School Class. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Robert "Steve" Bass; sons, K. Bryan Bass and his wife, Nancy; Roger S. Bass and his companion, Gina Edwards; grandchildren, Joshua B. Bass and his wife, Monica and their son, Grigsby Bass; Brandon S. Bass and Ryan S. Bass; and her brother, Fred Rolfe. The family would like to extend a special acknowledgment of thanks and appreciation to Dr. Booth and his associates at Virginia Oncology. A service to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Great Bridge Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Moseley and Dr. Will Langford, officiating. She will be laid to rest at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.
