Blanche Bassett
Newcomerstown - Miss Blanche Bassett, Cross St., died Monday at 2:30 a.m. at the home of her niece, Mrs. E. J. Beitler, Dawson St., Uhrichsville.
She had been in ill health for some time, but death was unexpected.
A life resident of Newcomerstown, she was a daughter of the late Garrett and Maria Lacey Bassett. She retired after 30 years service with the Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator. She was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church and the Queen Esther Class.
She leaves a brother, Robert Smith Bassett of Clifton, N.Y.; five nieces and six nephews. Three sisters and three brothers are deceased.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Hinds Funeral Home by Rev. R. O. Muffly. Burial will be in E. State St. Cemetery, Newcomerstown. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Tuesday at the funeral home.
