Hazel I. White, 75
WEST YARMOUTH ? Hazel I. (Bassett) White, 75, a former real estate broker and real estate and building company co-owner, died yesterday at Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, after a brief illness.
She was the wife of John A. White.
Born and raised in Harwich, she was a graduate of Harwich High School She married in 1942 and settled in Harwick and Dennis for a short time before moving to Yarmouth in 1958.
Mrs. White was a real estate broker and she had her husband co-founded the former Hajac Inc., a real estate and building company. She later worked for several other Realtors in the Dennis and Yarmouth area.
An avid golfer, she was a member of the Bass River Golf Course in South Yarmouth. Since her retirement, she also loved to spend time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving besides her husband aer a son, John A. White Jr., of South Yarmouth; two daughters, Donna L. Renaud and Linda L. Wagner, both of South Dennis; a brother, Albert Bassett of South Yarmouth; a sister, Emily Churchill of South Dennis; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Route 134, South Dennis. Burial will follow in Chandler Grey Cemetery, West Yarmouth.
Visiting hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
