Mr. Bassett was born to William E. and Frances Cluney Bassett on May 27, 1951 in Ann Arbour, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother William Bassett; and his only son-in-law, Benny Overstreet, Sr. He is survived by his daughter, Brandy Overstreet of Jena; two brothers, Merle and Gwen Bassett of Leesville and Randy and Debra Bassett of Anacoco; two sisters, Linda and Sonny Nowell of Waxahachie, Texas and Barbara and Jim McLaughlin of Lancaster, Calif.; three grandchildren, Benny "B.J." Overstreet, Kolby Overstreet and Robyn Overstreet, all of Jena; and one Great Grandchild: Sayden Blake Richards Overstreet. Memorial services for Mr. Bassett will be announced at a later date.
