Bassett, Jerry L., 58, of Reader, died Saturday, October 11, 2003 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, West Virginia.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Reader. He worked for CSX Railroad of Jacksonville, Florida and he was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Bassett; one brother, Howard; and one sister, Jean Highley.
Surviving are his wife, Donna Eddy Bassett; one son, Timothy of Reader; three daughters, Connie Sivert of Jacksonburg, Michelle Burch and Terri, both of Reader; his mother, Esta Spencer Bassett of Reader; one brother Edward Bassett of Piney; one sister, Ellen Highley of Reader, 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends were received from 2-9 p.m. Monday at Palmer Funeral Home, Pine Grove. Services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, Reader. Interment at the Straight Cemetery, Reader, West Virginia.
