- MRS. MAE BASSETT DIES MONDAY

Mrs. Mae Smith Bassett, resident of Tuscola for the past 50 years, died at 7:30 a.m. Monday, April 23, in her home. She had been ill for some time.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Waddington Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Williams, pastor of the First Baptist Church,, officiating. Music was by Ted Cox.
Mrs. Bassett was born June 24, 1893, in Holyoke, Colorado. She was married to Jesse Bassett on Jan. 2, 1912, at Tuscola. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in January.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, Eugene, Camargo, Charlie R., Tuscola; a daughter, Mrs. Ettabelle Gaudard, Paris; a brother, Charles E. Smith, Odell; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Mae and Mrs. Geneva Marie McGee.
Mrs. Bassett was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Burial was in the Tuscola Cemetery. Pallbearers were Larry Bassett, Philip Derby, Harold Boas, Richard Lamb, Dean Hillgoss and Homer Carroll.
