CAPTAIN EARL OLIVER DIES IN ALASKAN AIR CRASH
Memorial services for Captain Earl Oliver, son of Judge A.B. Oliver of
Walker, were held at Moffitt Air Force Base at Omaha, Nebraska, yesterday,
Sept. 11. Captain Oliver was one of thirteen servicemen killed at Anchorage,
Alaska, Tuesday when an airforce C-47 transport plane carrying 20 perso
crashed at 800 feet following a takeoff. Seven of the passengers and cr
survived and were hospitalized at Elmendorf hospital there. The plane and crew
were on a training mission to Alaska from Moffitt Air Base. Captain Oliver is
also survived by his wife, Mildred; four brothers, Ray of Walker; Malcolm of
Flint, Michigan, Weldon Rollen of Crystal, Minnesota, and Dean of New
Brighton, Minnesota; five sisters, Mrs. B.C .Olson and Mrs. Darwin Humphrey
both of Walker, Mrs. Bill Gallmeier of Oseo, Minnesota, Mrs. R.H. Gi
Seattle, and Patty M. Oliver of Minneapolis. Interment services are
tentatively set to be held at Walker sometime next week.
