  Notes	Joseph Thomas "Shorty" Bassett Bassett, Joseph Thomas, "Shorty", 82, of Louisville, died Saturday at Altenheim. He was a retired inspector at Kosmosdale Cement Plant and a member of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances. He is survived by his daughter, Betty Hoagland (Kenneth); son, Richard Bassett; brother, William Bassett; two grandchildren, Tommy and Darlene Friel; and one great-grandson, Jordan Friel. His funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday at W.G. Hardy, Valley Chapel, with burial in Bethany Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday at the funer home.
