- Albert C. Meade
JEFFERSON - Albert C. Meade, 73, of 1549 Mill Creek Rd., died at 6
a.m. today at Ashtabula General Hospital after suffering a heart attac
He was born Feb. 23, 1906 in New Lyme, the son of William Henry and
Anna (Fleming) Meade, and was a lifetime resident of Ashtabula County, and the
past 48 years he lived in Jefferson. Mr. Meade was the owner of A.C. Meade
Excavating Co. and retired in 1971. He was married on Aug. 4, 1927 to t
former Grace Bassett, in Jefferson. He was a member of the First Baptist
Church of Jefferson, and Tuscan Lodge #342 F&AM.
Survivors include two sons, James L. Meade of Jefferson, and William
E. Meade of Akron; seven daughters, Mrs. Calvin (Anna) Pinney of Geneva, Mrs.
Robert (Ethel) Dumperth of Jefferson, Mrs. Boyd (Ruth) King of Cuyahoga Flls,
Mrs. Fred (Evelyn) Pheasant, of McClure, Pa., Mrs. Fred (Martha) Swanson of
Jefferson, Mrs. William (Carol) Evans, of Akron, and Mrs. Wayne (Mary Lou)
Plut of Kingsville; 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He w
preceded in death by his wife, Grace L. Meade on Feb. 9, 1979, and by a
brother who died in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 12 at Miller
Funeral Home, Jefferson. The Rev. Dr. William L. Offutt, Pastor of the First
Baptist Church will officiate, with burial in Brownville Cemetery, New Lyme.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday
evening from 7-9 p.m. Tuscan Lodge #342 F&AM will conduct memorial services at
the funeral home Wednesday evening at 8:30 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church, Jefferson.
