Meade, 70, of 1549 Millcreek Rd., died at 12:10 a.m. today at Ashtabula General Hospital from a heart conditio Born in Cherry Valley, March 29, 1908, she was the daughter of Neal and Alta (Loveland) Bassett. A resident of Jefferson for 48 years, she had spent most of her life in Ashtabula County. Mrs. Meade was married Aug. 4, 1927, to Albert C. Meade in Jefferson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jefferson. Survivors include her husband; two sons, James L. Meade of Jefferson and William E. Meade of Akron; seven daughters, Mrs. Calvin (Anna) Pinney of Geneva, Mrs. Robert (Ethel) Dumperth of Jefferson, Mrs. Boyd (Ruth) King of Cuyahoga Falls, Mrs. Fred (Evelyn) Pheasant of McClure, Pa., Mrs. Fred (Martha) Swanson of Jefferson, Mrs. William (Carol) Evans of Akron and Mrs. Wayne (Mary Lou) Plut of Kingsville; a brother, Harland Bassett of Geneva; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Meade was preceded in death by a brother and two half brothers. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Chur Jefferson. The Rev. Dr. William L. Offutt, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Harold L. Kidwell, former pastor, will officiate. Interment will be at Brownville Cemetery in New Lyme. At Mrs. Meade's request, no calling hours will be observed. Friends may call at the church from noon until the hour of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church. Miller Funeral Home, in Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.
