Imogene Bassett (Picture included)
LIMA ? Imogene G. Bassett, age 90, passed away November 3, 2017, at 10:26 am, at the Lima Memorial Health System. Imogene was born May 27, 1927 in Allen County, OH to Donald H. and Helen (Harpster) Anderson Sr. who preceded her in death. On May 4, 1947 she married Lewis E. Bassett who survives in Lima.
Imogene was a 1945 graduate of the Beaverdam High School. She spent the majority of her life as a homemaker and farmer's wife. Imogene had been attending the Pleasant View Church of the Brethren where she had served as one of the organist and pianist for many years. She was very proud of all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her pies and her apple dumplings and being a dedicated and faithful wife.
In addition to her husband, Imogene is survived by her children: Dennis L. (Pat) Bassett of Columbus Grove, OH, Nancy A. (Dennis) Hitchings of Dublin, OH, David E. (Kim) Bassett of Lima, OH and Rosemary (Dan) Spearman of Wapakoneta, OH, 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild on the way, a brother, Donald H. Anderson Jr. of Bluffton, OH, 2 sisters: Carolyn Armstrong of Bluffton, OH and Wilma (Jack) Laeufer of Columbus Grove, OH.
There will be a funeral service held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 2:30 pm at the Pleasant View Church of the Brethren. Officiating the service will be Dr. Byron Hawbecker. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery, Beaverdam, OH following the service.
Friends may call on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, BLUFFTON CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund at the Pleasant View Church of the Brethren. Condolences may be expressed at chiles-lamanfh.com.
