Ruth H. Bonner
Ruth Helene Bonner, 80, of Bolivar was called to her heavenly home Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006.
She was born Aug. 27, 1925, in Polk County, the daughter of Howard and Millie Bass McColm.
Ruth was saved as a young girl at Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church, later moving her membership to Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a member.
She graduated from Half Way High School and lived most of her life in the Burns community. She worked in a nursing home for several years, loved to attend church as long as her health permitted, enjoyed reading and visiting with family and friends.
She married George Bonner in 1941, and to this union one son was born.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, George, in 1994; a brother, Ralph McColm; a sister, Willa Ryan; and a grandson, Aaron Bonner.
Survivors include a son, George Jr., of the home; a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Vernon Carter of Half Way; four grandsons, Clint, Scott, David and Ryan Bonner; one granddaughter, Nichole Bonner; six great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; four nieces, Mardel Skinner, Linda Trolinger, Jeanine Zulauf and Jane Francka; two nephews, Mike and Mark Carter.
Ruth was a compassionate person who always had time to share the trouble and heartache of the people she loved. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Graveside services were Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery east of Bolivar with Bro. Gary Campbell officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Pitts Chapel, Bolivar.
