Dorothy J. Bassett
A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Dorothy Bassett will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2006 at Bonney-Watson, Parker Chapel in Burien. Mrs. Bassett died on Thursday, January 26, 2006, in Vancouver, Washington. She would have been 81 years old on Wednesday. She was born on February 1, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois and lived in Burien since 1946. She attended the University of Illinois. She worked as a dental assistant, and then later assisted her husband in his bookkeeping business. She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. Mrs. Bassett loved sewing, crafts and reading. She especially enjoyed shopping and visiting with friends and family. Her husband of 58 years, Samuel W. Bassett, preceded her in death in 2004. She is survived by a son, Michael, of Federal Way and daughters, JoAnn Haberer of Vancouver, and Patricia Saurdiff, of Enumclaw. She has one grandson, Tommy Cook of Vancouver.
