Lenward Bassett
Lenward Bassett, Sr. 83 of Greenville, GA passed away, Friday, July 17, 2026, at Wellstar West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange, GA.
Mr. Bassett was born May 21, 1943, in Greenville, GA, the son of Webster Jefferson Bassett, Sr, and Maggie Ruth. He was retired for the Georgia Department of Transportation. Lenward loved his family dearly and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He loved riding his lawn mower and cutting grass. He was preceded by his parents, daughter Brenda Mae Bassett Williams, brother Webster Jefferson Bassett, Jr., sister Janette Gabrel and great-grandchild Hazeleigh Harding.??
He is survived by his wife Lena Bassett, son Lenward (Angela) Bassett, Jr, both of Greenville, GA, sister Loretta Bradshaw of Columbus, GA, grandchildren Mallory Grace (Derek) Harding, Nicholsville, KY, Lenward Bassett, III and Jessica Marie Bassett both of Greenville, great grandchildren Kopland Harding and Kolter Harding and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Bassett will be held 2:00 pm Monday, July 20, 2026, at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home, Manchester, GA with interment following in the New Friendship Baptist Church in Woodbury, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Cox Funeral Home in Manchester will be assisting the Bassett family with the arrangements.
