Bassett-Perez
John E. Bassett and Melissa G. Perez were united in marriage Sept. 3 at 4:30 p.m. The double-ring candlelight ceremony was performed by the Rev. Greg Reid in Morning Star House of the Lord in Kokomo. The bride was given in marriage by her stepfather, Sam Burns, and her half brother, Michael Bath.
Melissa is the daughter and stepdaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Burns of 2322 Burningtree Lane. She is a 1985 graduate of Kokomo High School and a 1986 graduate of Ball State University. She is employed by Lafountain Medical Center.
John is the son of Kay P. Bassett of Peru and Robert K. Bassett of Greentown. He is a 1986 graduate of Maconaquah High School and is employed by Wilson Foods, Logansport.
Jeannie Burns of Kokomo was the honor attendant. Amy McGaffney, Shelley Jenkins, April Toliver, Lisa Fowler and Aimi Bassett were bridesmaids.
Todd A. Bassett of Logansport was best man, Bryan Russo, Mike Cade, Doug Rowlett, Juan Lynch and Gene Williams were groomsmen. Chris Burns and Bryan Ridenour seated guests. Shane Jenkins was ring bearer.
The couple took a wedding trip to Chicago and live in Kokomo.
