Michael Paul ?Backfire? Bassett, 31, of Carlsbad, NM, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 in Carlsbad. Michael was born February 8, 1990 to John Bassett and Karen Navarrete in Albuquerque, NM. He was raised in Farmington, NM.
Michael married Macie Jo Click on September 23, 2017 in Carlsbad, NM and was Co-Owner/Operator of W.T.F.E. Chroming.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and welding but, riding his Fat Boy Harley was his passion and traveling with the Brotherhood on many adventures.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents William and Joy Bassett, uncle Albert Bassett, aunt Linda Browning and ?grandpa? Jerry Click.
He is survived by his wife of 4 years Macie Jo Bassett; son Easton Click; parents John and wife Danielle Bassett and Karen and Dennis Navarrete; father and mother-in-law Chunky and JoAnn Click; uncle Dwayne and aunt Barb Holliday; half-brothers: Trent Navarrete, James Bassett and Kenneth Bassett, stepbrother Tytian ?Ty? Edgar, sister Katherine Sides; grandparents: Betty Emberty, Joe and Lorenza Jordan and Sharon Click; uncle Efren and aunt JoNella Bocanegra and brothers-in-law Dalton Click and Jon Click.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 27, 2021 at West Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Matthew Cunningham of Crosswinds Assembly of Tatum will officiate. Interment will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery (new section). There is no public visitation.
