A Celebration of Life Service for Rebecca ?Becky? Bassett Settle, 73, of Rienzi, MS will be Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11 AM at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church officiated by Bro. Josh Westmoreland and Bro. Kara Blackard. Christopher Settle will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in New Hope Presbyterian Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 5-8 PM and Friday, February 2, 2024 from 10 AM till service time at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church. Pallbearers include Dwight Wilson, Doug Hayhurst, Jackie Beckham, Billy Newcomb, Adam Fowler, and Gary Holley. The Deacons of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Becky was born in Yazoo City, MS on August 9, 1950 to the late Bobbie Harold and Betty Joe McRae Bassett and passed away at her residence on January 26, 2024. She graduated from the University of North Alabama with a bachelors degree and retired after 28 years of service as a teacher with Biggersville Elementary School. Becky was a longtime member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church. Her greatest passion was being with her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Ed Settle of Rienzi; her son, Christopher Settle (Pam) of Oldsmar, FL; her daughter, Jennifer Watkins (Chad) of Foley, AL; her grandchildren, Jackson Settle, Cooper Watkins, and Colton Watkins; her sister, Barbara Gilbert (Bo) of Birmingham, AL; her niece, Heather Gilbert-Martin (Guy) of Birmingham, AL; other relatives and many friends. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wheeler Grove Baptist Church music department. Online condolences may be left at magnoliafuneralhome.net.
