Geraldine M. Bassett
COHOES - Geraldine M. Fish Bassett, 78, of Garner Street in Cohoes, died at
her residence on Monday, November 16, 2009, after a long illness.
She was born and educated in Cohoes and was the daughter of the late Walter L.
and Ada Lamiotte Pinke.
She was a homemaker, a member of the American Legion’s E.T. Ruane Post Ladies
Auxiliary, the PAA and Moose Club in Cohoes.
She was the wife of the late Earl Fish and Archie I. Bassett. Mother of the
late Darlene Gervais; mother-in-law of George Gervais of Waterford;
grandmother of Nicole and Misty Gervais, both of Waterford; great-grandmother
of Preston Gervais; sister of Patricia Sullivan of Florida, Constance
Charbonneau and Faith Hurst of Cohoes, William Pinke of Troy, Walter Pinke Jr.
of Ballston Spa, Harry Pinke of Cohoes and the late Rodger Pinke. Companion of
Leo H. Hurst of Cohoes. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME Inc., 216
Columbia St., Cohoes, with Rev Nick TeBordo officiating. Interment in
Waterford Rural Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home
Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
The family would like to thank the third-floor staff at St. Mary’s Hospital
for the care given Geraldine.
