Hubert ?Hugh? Bass
Mr. Hubert "Hugh" Bass, 76, of 4023 Windy Hill Trail, Mebane died at Presbyterian Home of Hawfields on Friday, September 19 after one year of failing health.
Mr. Bass was the husband of Mrs. Lois Reich Bass, who survives. He was the son of the late Mr. Loddie Bass and the late Mrs. Kathleen Stewart Bass Harris. He was a native of Franklinton, NC and was the former owner of Complete Office in Mebane.
He was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church, where he former president of the Methodist Men's Club. He was a member and former president of the Mebane Kiwanis Club. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors, other than his wife of the home include, one sister, Mrs. Shirley Burgess of Mebane, and two nieces.
A graveside memorial service was held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 21 at the Hebron United Methodist Church cemetery. Rev. William Holliday, pastor of the church, conducted the ceremony.
There was no visitation at the funeral home. The family received friends at the home of Mr. Garland and Mrs. Shirley Burgess, 3921 Windy Hill Trail, Mebane. Visitation was held at the Hebron United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall after the service.
