George was born in Hoosick Falls, NY and was the son of the late George and Betty Schermerhorn Bass Sr. George enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling on television and riding his bike. He is survived by his son Christopher and his daughter Jeannie Bass. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers, Pat Bass, Hazel Sheffer, Rachel and William Bass, Joann Chaplin, Melody Penttila, Nancy Ostrander and Terry Hoag. He is also survived by 7 grandchildern and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for George at 12 PM Friday October 31, 2014 at The Wm. Leahy Funeral Home 336 Third Street Troy NY. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 10 am to 12PM at the funeral home.
