William Basset Jr.
FRANCESTOWN = William Basset Jr., 76, died yesterday at Memorial Hospital, Nashua, after a brief illness.
Born in Francestown, he had lived here all his life. He was a former employe of N.H. Ball Bearing of Peterborough, retiring in 1970.
Mr. Basset was the last male survivor of the Basset family.
He was a 30 year member of the Pacific Lodge NO. 45, F&AM of Francestown.
The family includes his wife, Mrs. Doris A. (Cass) Basset of Francestown; two daughters, Mrs. Ann B. Lessard of Peterborough, and Mrs. Jane B. Ellingson of Bedford, Mass, four grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Bailey of Francestown, Mrs. Lydia Splaine of Lynn, Mass. and Mrs. Matilda Boyle of Irvington on Hudson, N.Y.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Number Three Cemetery with the Rev. James Haddix, of Temple, officiating.
There are no calling hours.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Monadnock Community Hospital, Peterborough.
The Woodbury and Son Funeral Home of Peterborough is in charge of arrangements.
