Funeral Services for Earl Bassett
Earl Bassett, 64, a farmer and life long resident of the town of Savannah, died Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 16 at the home of his brother-in-law, Leslie Rogers in the village of South Butler. He is survived by his wife, Bertha Rogers Bassett; a son, Forrest of Palmyra; there sisters, Mrs. Hugh Everheart of Wolcott, Mrs. Robert O’Neil of Wolcott and Mrs. Harry Hammond of Progress, Texas, and two grandchildren, Carol and David Bassett.
Funeral services were held at the Rogers home in South Butler at 3 p.m. Friday with the Rev. John Beers of the Methodist church of South Butler officiating. Burial was in the Butler Savannah cemetery. The bearers were Joseph and Tony Taconi, Edwin and Arthur Reed, Robert Welch and Kenneth Reed, former neighbors and friends of the Bassetts.
