Bassett Marriage Solemnized
WASHINGTON ? Miss Joan Theresa Bassett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George T. Bassett, was married to Percy S. Simpson, Jr., formerly of Richmond, Va., son of Mr. and Mrs. Simpson, of Silver Spring, Md., at 10 A.M. yesterday in St. Anthony?s Church. The Rev. J.A. Dressel performed the ceremony; and the Rev. Leo A. Arnoult celebrated the mass.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of Chantilly lace and net over satin. Her fingertip veil fell from a crown of orange blossoms.
Miss Janet Hyland was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Joanne Conti, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Miss Nancy Neuland, of Hyattsville, Md., cousin of the bride.
Charles Hudson, of Richmond, was best man. Ushers were George T. Bassett, Jr., James E. Bassett and Leo J. Bassett, brothers of the bride, and Edward J. Ward, of Kensington, Md.
After a Northern wedding trip, the couple will make their home in Silver Spring.
The bride attended Immaculata Junior College.
The bridegroom attended Texas State College and served with the United States Air Forces.

The former Miss Joan T. Bassett
Miss Joan Theresa Bassett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George T. Bassett of Washington, became the bride on October 31 of Mr. Percy S. Simpson, jr. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Simpson of Silver Spring.
The ceremony took place at St. Anthony?s Church with the Rev. J.A. Dressel performing the ceremony and the Rev. Leo A. Arnoult, P.O., celebrating the mass. There was a reception at 2 Scott Circle. Following a Northern wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Simpson will make their home in Silver Spring.
