LOMBARD - Vivian Bassett Smith, 103, of Lombard, IL passed away on August 16, 2015. She was born on December 18, 1911 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Thomas and Amanda (Olsen) Bassett. Vivian retired from Crane Co., in Chicago, IL. Survivors include her 2 nephews: Dr. John (Cheryl) Peacock of West Dundee and Dr. Thomas Peacock of Michigan; and a niece: Camille Peacock of Oak Park, IL; a great niece: Jeanne (Matthew) Hergert; 1 great nephews: John (Sue) Peacock III and Martin Peacock; and 2 great great nephews, Brady Peacock and Lowell Peacock. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: George Smith 1994; 2 brothers: Oliver (Eva) and Donald (LaVerne) Bassett; and a sister: Geraldine (John) Peacock. Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 22, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with visitation from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be private at Mt.
