Bassett Paul S. Bassett, 77, who lived in Sag Harbor and attended Pierson High School, died of cancer on June 10. Mr. Bassett had lived in Buffalo, N.Y., since 1926. He was born in Attleboro, Mass., on Sept. 18, 1903, to Charles D. and Virginia Tooker Bassett, and was raised here. After he was graduated from the State University at Cortland, he moved to Buffalo and taught physical education in school there for 38 years. He is survived by his wife, Marion Pernatt Bssett, a son, Paul Joseph Bassett of Buffalo, a niece, Morgia Dunham Nardy of Sagaponck, and a nephew, Richard Dunham of East Hampton. The family has suggested donations to Mercy Hospital, 565 Abbot Road, Buffalo, N.Y. 14220.
