Samuel ?Sam? Arthur Bass
Samuel ?Sam? Arthur Bass, age 79, of Front Royal, died Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at Lynn Care Center, Front Royal. Sam was loved by his family, many friends and his dog Samantha. He will be missed by all.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #53, Front Royal. Mr. Bass served in the U.S. Air Force and had retired from the Air National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Jean Inez Bass, who died in 2001, his parents, Charles henry Bass and Linden Brezler Bass, and one brother, Charles Bass.
Survivors include three sons and their wives: Michael A. Bass and Petronis of Alexandria, Stephen L. Bass and Annette of Front Royal, Charles A. Bass and Mary of Linde, three sisters; Linden Buell of NY, Eleanor Lashley of PA and Nancy Wesfel of SC.
Also surviving are 16 grandchildren: Jacqueline, Christopher, Matthew, Samanta, Olivia, Harvy, Lynden, Nicholas, Joseph, Christopher, Danielle, Monica, Joshua, Samantha, Jeremy and Taylor.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Friday, May 26, 2006 at Turner-Robertson Funeral Home, 1200 N. Shenandoah Ave., Front Royal, where funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 27, 2006 with pastor Jerry W. Young. Interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Front Royal.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of flowers or contributions to the American Legion Post #53, 8th St. and Virginia Ave, Front Royal, VA 22630; or to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork St., Winchester, VA 22691 in memory of Samuel A. Bass
Pallbearers will be Eric Maglis, Pete Roy, Bill Sutherly, Perry Sniper, Thomas Brody and Terry Parsons.
