LILLIAN LENA BASSETT, age 91, of Blue Earth, died Monday, January 5, 2015, at her home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015, at 11:00 AM, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Rev. Brent Walker officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Cemetery, Fairmont, Minnesota. Visitation time will be one hour prior to services, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.com Lillian was born February 28, 1923, in Silver Lake Township, Martin County, MN, the daughter of John and Mary (Stutzke) Brockmann. She was raised in the Fairmont area where she attended Silver Lake Township District 47 schools. Lillian was married to Lester George Bassett on November 17, 1946 in Fairmont. Lillian worked at the Gay Parie Ballroom near Hands Park before starting to work at the Elmore Nursery in 1968. The couple moved to Blue Earth in 1976 where she continued to work at the nursery for 40 years, retiring in 2009. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of the Blue Earth VFW Auxiliary. Lillian is survived by her son, Gary Bassett of Blue Earth, daughter in-law, Judy Bassett of Blue Earth, sister, Delores "Tootie" Gram of Armstrong, Iowa, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lester in 1997, son-Rodney in 2009 and sisters: Frieda Laue, Gertrude Blom, Ruth Marie Nowak and Mathilda.
