Waco Daily Examiner, Waco, Texas
Wednesday, 1 Apr 1885
Died. Bassett. Tuesday evening, at 6 o'clock, at the residence of Mr. C.C.
McCulloch, on Columbus Street, of asthma: Mrs. Sarah Bassett, aged 59 years.
Mrs. Bassett has resided in Waco for the past twenty-five years, and no one
was more honored and esteemed. Loved by every one who knew her, made li
worth living, but when the angel of death hovered over her and the Christian
spirit took its flight home to the God she worshipped, she calmly and
peacefully slept. A gloom will be cast over her large circle of friends when
it is learned that this aged lady is no more, but they will all know that such
a true woman as she has always shown herself to be, is now at rest. Mrs. B.'s
husband died many years ago, and she leaves one child, a daughter, Mrs. C.C.
McCulloch, with whom she lived at the time of her death.
The funeral will take place at 4 o'clock this afternoon from St. Paul's
church, Rev. Francis R. Starr, officiating. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery.
