Hardy-Bassett (Include picture of Miss Kathy Lynn Bassett)
Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Jefferson Bassett Jr. announce the marriage of their daughter, Miss Kathy Lynne Bassett, to Mr. Charles Martin Hardy, son of Mrs. Samuel Hardy of Arnaudville and the late Mr. Hardy. Their marriage will be solemnized April 21 at 6:30 o’clock in the evening at a Nuptial Mass at John the Baptist Church, with the Rev. Matthias Moore officiating. A reception will immediately follow the ceremony at Sardi’s West.
Miss Bassett, whose mother is the former Miss Laurenell Fleming, was graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where she received a bachelor of science degree in mathematics. While there, she was treasurer of the class of 1971, a member and president of Chi Omega sorority, a member of Scotch Guard, Mortar Board, and was listed in Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. She is, at present, employed as an account manager at Burroughs Corporation.
She is a granddaughter of the late Col. Aubrey J. Bassett, U.S. Army, and Mrs. Bassett and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edmond Daniel Fleming.
Mr. Hardy, whose mother is the former Miss Alice Mistrot, was graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette, where he was a member and treasurer of Phi Kappa Theta fraternity. He is president of the USL Phi Kappa Theta Alumni and a member of the Algiers Jaycees, and is, at present, employed as administrative manager of Offshore Tugs, Inc.
He is a grandson of Mrs. Pierce Mistrot and the late Mr. Mistrot and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hardy, all of Arnaudville.
Miss Elizabeth Anne Bassett will serve her sister as maid-of-honor, and the other bridal attendants will be Miss Susan Cunningham of Shreveport, Miss Mary Catherine Bernard of Monroe, Mrs. Frances Scanlon Allen of Jackson, Miss., and Mrs. Hank Williams Jr. of Cullman, Ala.
Mr. Samuel Hardy Jr. of Lafayette will serve his brother as best man and the groomsmen and ushers will be Messrs. Robert Hardy of Arnoudville, another brother of the prospective bridegroom; Lynn Alexander of Baton Rouge; John Erny of Lafayette, Harry Meredith, Jeffrey Bassett and David Bassett, brothers of the bride-elect, and John Fugler of Baton Rouge.
