Annie L. Bassett, 73, of 807 Route 28, Pembroke, died Monday, April 26, 2004, at her home.
She was born Aug. 3, 1930, in Somersworth, the daughter of Adjutor (Archie) and Mary (Dube) Gregoire. She grew up in the Somersworth and Dover area, and was a 40-year resident of Lee prior to moving to Pembroke in 1998.
Mrs. Bassett enjoyed working outdoors. She loved planting flowers and loved to read. She enjoyed ceramic painting and making ceramic statues. She loved to play cards.
The widow of Ralph E. Bassett, Sr., who died in December of 2002, members of her family include two daughters, Marie Jones and her husband, Robert, of Rochester, and Elaine Snow and her husband, Andrew, of Pembroke; four sons, Ralph "Sonny" Bassett, Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Brookfield, Kenneth Bassett, Sr. and his wife, Diane, of Middleton, Dennis Bassett of Rochester and Maurice Bassett of Dunbarton; 12 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren on the way; three sisters, Beatrice Comtois of Dover, Theresa Hebert of Somersworth and Yvonne Chagnon of Maryland, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Stephanie Bassett.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, April 29 at St. Mary's Church, Dover, with burial following in the family lot in Lee Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 State Route 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03119-5032, or to the Visiting Nurse Association of Manchester, 1850 Elm St., Manchester, NH 03104.
