I, John Bassett, of New York, mariner, being in good health, I direct all debts and funeral expenses paid.
I leave to my wife Ellinor the use of all my estate, if she contnues my widow, but if she marries she is to have only one third. If I die without issue, then the interest of two-thirds of my estate is to go to my mother, Etzie Bassett, during her life or so long as she remains the widow of my father, Mr. John Bassett, and then to my brothers Francis and Fredrick Bassett, and my two sisters, Mary wife of Samuel Waldron and Margaret Bassett.
I make my wife and my brother Francis executors.
Witnesses: John Jauncey Jr., Mark Valentine, James Emmott, attorney-at-law.
