Clyde Alvin Bassett
NORTH BALTIMORE -- Clyde Alvin Bassett, 88, of North Baltimore, Ohio, died Sunday, June 13, 2010 from injuries suffered in a traffic accident in North Baltimore.
He was born July 20, 1921 in Hoytville, Ohio to Clyde and Gretta Mae (Apple) Bassett. He married Vivian (Perry) on December 24, 1943 and she survives in North Baltimore.
Clyde was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a proud member of the 12th armored division during WWII and was a lifetime member of the American Legion in North Baltimore.
He is survived by his wife, daughter, Judy (Dave) Smith of North Baltimore, grandchildren, Sue (Dave) Phillips, Tim (Jenn) Smith, Dave (Becky) Smith, great-grandchildren, Mike and Eric Phillips, Bryce, Brandon, and Brody Smith.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy, brothers, Harold, Howard & Raymond Bassett.
There will be a Public Graveside Service Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the Old Maplewood Cemetery North Baltimore. Military rites will be conducted by the North Baltimore American Legion.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions may be given to the North Baltimore American Legion.
Arrangements are being handled by DUNN FUNERAL HOME, 408 W. Wooster St. located in the Historical District of Bowling Green.
