Nettie A. (Judd) Bassett
The sudden death of Mrs. H.S. Bassett, 61, brought a great shock to the people of Harrington. Her demise came as the result of a heart attack. Nettie Judd Bassett was born at Horicon, Wisconsin, June 17, 1870, and in her early girlhood moved with her people to the Sprague district while Washington was a territory. In 1893 she was united in marriage with Herman S. Basstt, publisher of the Harrington Citizen. To their union three children were born. She was one of the founding members of the Harrington Community church, a past Worthy Matron in Bright Hope Order of Eastern Star, and a conscientious worker in the Harrington Woman's Club. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. C.A. Scott, Harrington, and Miss Florence Bassett, Spokane; three brothers, Frank E. and Charles S. Judd, Spokane; William H. Judd, Bremerton; and one sister, Mrs. M.M. Nelson, Reardan. Interment will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery, Harrington.
