He was a retired carpenter, a World War II veteran and a member of Carpenters Local of Fayette County. Surviving are his wife; sons Paul P Bass Jr of Vista, Edward Fitzgerald Bass of chicago; daughters, Rebecca Lannon of Vista, Donna Edwards of Concord, Calif; Marcia McDaniel of Vista; Jean Doldo of Watertown, N.Y. brothers, Gilbert Bass of Austin, Texas, Charles Bass of Decatur; Sisteers, Fern Newcome of Ramsey, Illinois, Winifred Driscoll of Decatur; 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
