Lillian Mae Bassett
BASSETT - Lillian Mae Bassett, aged 90, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with her Lord and Savior while in the presence of her family on Wednesday, December 17, 2003. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, in 1987; a great-grandson, Michael Houston; and several brothers and a sister, Max Croff, Francis Croff, Harven Croff, and Waneta Chesebro. She is survived by four children, Geraldine (Roger) Teesdale of Lady Lake, FL, Jay Bassett and his fiance Diane Prefountaine of Grand Rapids, Joyce (Clifford) Lieffers of Coopersville, and Florence (Gary) Butler of Sand Lake; 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaugher; a brother, Donald (Dorothy) Croff of Sheridan; three sisters, Betty (Jim) Wetherell of Luther, Maxine Ryan of Crystal, Ruth (Lewis) Knestrick of Big Rapids; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with her grandsons, Pastor Tedd Butler of Second Baptist Church, Grand Rapids, and Pastor Tadd Butler of New Hope Baptist Church, Allegan, officiating. Interment will follow in Crandall Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or Pine Grove Christian Reformed Church have been suggested. Visitation Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The family is being served by: BLISS-WITTERS CEDAR CHAPEL 13603 NORTHLAND DRIVE NE CEDAR SPRINGS.
