- BASSETT, Sue Eleanor
(Age 83)
Quietly slipped away on her 83rd birthday, August 1, 2008. Born Sue Eleanor Muckleroy on August 1, 1925 in San Angelo, TX. After a short career in Civil Service, she married Lt. Marin S. Bassett, June 7, 1944 to whom she remained married for 56 years until his passing in 2000. She is survived by their three children: Mark Bassett and wife Deborah of Houston, TX; Susan Kilgore and her husband Dwane, and Sarah Bassett all of Spokane. She is additionally survived by four grandchildren: Morgan Bishop, Richard Bassett, Madelynn Bishop and Megan Bassett; and three great-grandsons: Tyler, Ryan and Justin Bishop. She is preceded in death by her son Stephen Bassett and sisters Willie May Eller and Betty Jean Burns. Married life took her several places across the country, including the Spokane Valley where they owned Bell RV for 29 years. Sue was active in many organizations including Scouts, PTA, various Women's Organizations and Investment Clubs. Most recently she hosted a weekly Pinochle Club in Somers, MT. She enjoyed reading, painting, singing and sharing her Faith. Her beautiful spirit has inspired several generations of family, friends and acquaintances. Daughter, Sister, Mother, Aunt, Grandmother, Mentor and Friend, you are loved and will be missed. Memorial service will be held at Hennessey's Chapel, 1315 N. Pines, Spokane Valley, at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 15, 2008. Refreshments will follow service. Care entrusted to HENNESSEY VALLEY FUNERAL HOME.
