      Richard L. Bassett, 50, of Fort Collins, died Saturday, January 5, 2002, in Denver. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Charlie Patchen will officiate. A private graveside service and interment will be at Grandview Cemetery. Richard L. Bassett was born February 1, 1951, in Fort Collins to Thomas J. Bassett and Charleene Smith Bassett. He was raised in Fort Collins and graduated from Poudre High School in 1969. He lived in Denver the past 20 years. He was a musician. Survivors include a special friend, David Hagerman of Denver, his father, Thomas J. Bassett of Tucson, Arizona, a brother, Jeff Bassett of San Diego, two sisters, Sharon Altergott of Windsor and Donna Melton of Fort Collins, three nephews, two nieces and two grandnephews. His mother preceded him in death.
