Elaine Marie Lyon
Elaine Marie Lyon, 73, passed away May 20th at Delmar Villa Assisted Living, Delmar MD. Born in Mahopac, NY on August 4, 1950, she was the daughter of George J and Marie A (Pender) Bassett.
Elaine graduated Somers High School in 1968. She married John E Lyon Jr on April 8, 1978. While in NY, Elaine attended business school and worked in the insurance field. After moving to Salisbury in March 1987, they opened the Korner Kitchen in Delmar where they served Italian favorites for several years.
Elaine retired from banking in 2017 and enjoyed relaxing with her husband and beloved animals or going to the slots.
John passed away in January 2021.
Elaine leaves a brother, George J Bassett Jr (Ann) of Lonsdale AR and a sister Carol Lewis (Roy) of Salisbury MD. She also leaves a special niece, Shannon Ross (Michael) of Salisbury, nephews Eric Lewis, Knoxville TN, Brent Lewis (Ariel) Sharptown MD, Bradlee Bassett Lonsdale AR, and George (Trey) Bassett III (Janis) Jessieville AR and 18 great nieces and nephews.
There will not be any formal services and she will be interred at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery alongside her husband.
